Mont blanc serial number lookup. How to Identify an Authentic Mont Blanc Pen. Some Mont Blanc pens feature a serial number usually located engraved onto a band. Check that it matches any serial numbers detailed on the box or guarantee certificate. 0 Comment Comment. Some Mont Blanc pens will also feature a country of origin name engraved into a band. Do the serial numbers on Mont Blanc pens, fountain or otherwise, relate to the model & specification of the instrument? Had a couple of Rolex watches and the numbers on these watches relate to year of manufacture, model and spec and just wondered if M.B did the same. Some Mont Blanc pens feature a serial number usually located engraved onto a band. Check that it matches any serial numbers detailed on the box or guarantee certificate. The engraving will have clean edges and be aligned perfectly along the band.

Wiley Clapp GP100 Serial Numbers
I was looking at my WC GP100 and I was wondering if anyone knows what or if there is a specific serial number series? If so, it might be interesting to see where everyone is by serial number, although I don't know any way to do it without revealing the numbers.

I don't think Ruger will reveal that info - at least it seems they never have in the past. I'm also guessing they are not in a sequential block of numbers as it doesn't seem that all 2000 of the stainless steel (1752) nor all 2500 of the blued (1753) guns were made in one production run. The test fire envelope dates are months apart and inventory seems to appear in spurts so I would assume they make batches of a few hundred at a time. Keep in mind I'm guessing here based on what I have observed so I may be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time...

I just assumed they were sequentially since setting up the tooling multiple times would be really expensive and a huge pain. Although it does seem they appear in spurts so I don't know. My test fire envelope says 'May 22, 2012'

My test fire date on envelope 9/28/2011. Love mine, best 357 mag I've ever had. As good a trigger as a no dash s w 686 I had and way better than a sp101 I had. Other two were s w 19 and a security six.it s all round the best of the five I have had.

There's a good example - Brandi's envelope dated 5/22/2012 and USSBDH has one dated 9/28/2011. Nearly 8 months apart. If we assume the guns are assembled then tested and then boxed up ready to ship then there must be smaller batches of guns made at a time. It wouldn't take months and months to make only 2,000 guns (1752). I would guess they must rotate models in the GP100 line (as well as others) to keep a somewhat steady stream of various models flowing out of the factory. The assembly steps are almost identical with the sights being the most obvious variable so once the parts are made it's presumably a matter of putting them together and I bet a Ruger assembler can put a GP100 together pretty quick. Probably explains the recent post where a model 1753 ended up with a fiber optic front sight from a model 1752 instead of the brass bead. Grabbed the wrong part that time...
Would love to tour the factory one day and see how it's done.

There must have been another recent batch of the stainless steel version (1752) hit the distribution pipeline - there are suddenly six new ones listed on GunBroker. A photo on one listing shows the test fire envelope dated April 18, 2013 (4 weeks ago). That's nearly a year later from yours Brandi. I predict another wave of the blued model (1753) next but we will have to wait and see. With Ruger you just never know...

Well, if anything it's interesting at least. I'm guessing the theory about them putting a few out every so often seems to be the case. It would be really interesting for as many of the WC GP owners as possible to have a forum to compare the guns and track any problems or even improvements. Once they are all sold that's 2000 stainless GP's and 2500 of the black (are they black or dark blue?) for 4500 total guns. Should be possible to get a decent percentage of them together online. Stupid idea?

Flat black and the finish is very fragile.

It would be difficult to track by customers but if they ever got caught it would destroy their business. If they say they are only making 2000 and turn around and turn out 10,000 the value of that gun drops and you don't want 10,000 GP100 owners pissed off at you. I would be beyond pissed myself. Just have to hope they are honest.

How can you tell the date of manufacture of the GP100?
Just bought a used GP100 and want to know .... the guy I bought it from thinks he bought it in 1998 but can't remember and didn't have any paperwork on it.
You can get the DOM from most guns by the serial number. Same with Ruger?

Looks like the guy was off by 10 years. It was manufactured in early 1988.
It is in pristine condition so it must have sat somewhere for a long time.
I'll see if I can post a picture later, maybe this weekend.
Again, thanks for the info.

Well I cannot find my GP100 serial number on any lists. The prefix stops at 177 and mine is 178-147xx. I am assuming that would put it being made in 2016 or early 2017 (??)
