Digital Ocean Install Docker

Deploy on Digital Ocean¶. Running Nakama in a Digital Ocean droplet is a great way to develop using Nakama without needing to install it locally. Installing Docker. Once you're connected to the server via ssh as the user ds, you should see a command prompt. This prompt will let you execute any bash shell commands, such as cd to change directories, and mv to move files. The server is running Ubuntu 14.04, which is based on Linux. The first thing we'll do is install Docker.

So, a whole day has been spend trying to install docker. This is the error i keep getting. I used the official approach from docker, and also tried the digital ocean installation guide.

After restarting and journaling the error:I got this ->

I also download a debian package and installed, it also failed.

Can you check if the docker -ce was installed and service is running . sometimes if you try multiple installations, it may throw this type of error.If so, uninstall and try to install following steps from this tutorial -

Essentially you will run following commands -

1. install the dependencies first

2. add the GPG key for the official Docker repository to the system:

Voila, you have installed Docker-CE. you can verify installation by checking the version of docker-ce installed

Here is what i did to Set up a laravel Project in Digital Ocean

Install Docker

SSH to your Server

you will be prompt of that password.
type the password you receive in your email

then it will ask to you to change a new password
just change it to the custom root password you want

After SSH
you can check that docker command is working by typing

Set Up Your Laravel Project

Install docker-compose command

Create Your LaraDock Containers

Go to Your Workspace

Install laravel Dependencies, Add .env , generate Key and give proper permission certain folder

you can then view your laravel site at your ipaddress
for example

You will see there Laravel Default Welcome Page

but if you need to view on your custom domain name
which you would.

Using Your Own Domain Name

Fender mij serial numbers. login to your DNS provider
Godaddy, Namecheap what ever..
And Point the Custom Domain Name Server to

In Your Digital Ocean Account go to

add your domain name and choose the server ip you provision earlier

Serve Site With NGINX (HTTP ONLY)

Uninstall Docker Ubuntu

Go back to command line Stover engine identification.

remove default_server

and add server_name (your custom domain)

Rebuild Your Nginx

Re Run Your Containers MYSQL and NGINX

View Your Site with HTTP ONLY (http://yourdomain.com)

Run Site on SSL with Let's Encrypt Certificate

Note: You need to Use Caddy here Instead of Nginx

Install Docker On Ubuntu Digital Ocean

To go Caddy Folders and Edit CaddyFile

Remove 0.0.0.0:80

and replace with your https://yourdomain.com

uncomment tls

Digital Ocean Install Docker

and replace self-signed with your email address

This is needed Prior to Creating Let's Encypt

Run Your Caddy Container without the -d flag and Generate SSL with Let's Encypt

you will be prompt here to enter your email.. you may enter it or not

After it finish Press Ctrl + C to exit ..

Stop All Containers and ReRun Caddy and Other Containers on Background

View your Site in the Browser Securely Using HTTPS (https://yourdomain.com)

Note that Certiface will be Automatically Renew By Caddy
